DP pressure Flow Transmitter

This is a diagram of a differential pressure (DP) flowmeter, a device used to measure the flow rate of fluids (liquids, gases, or steam) in a pipe. It operates based on Bernoulli's principle, which states that as the speed of a fluid increases, its pressure decreases.
Orifice Plate Assembly: Creates a restriction in the pipe, causing a pressure drop.
DP Transmitter Assembly: Measures the pressure difference before and after the orifice plate.
Temperature Transmitter: Measures the temperature of the fluid.
Pressure Transmitter: Measures the static pressure of the fluid.
Steam Flow Computer: Calculates the flow rate based on the pressure difference, temperature, and pressure.
Display Unit: Shows the calculated flow rate and other parameters.
Isolation Valve: Used to isolate the flowmeter for maintenance or calibration.
DP flowmeters are commonly used in industries such as chemical, oil and gas, and power generation due to their reliability and ability to handle high-pressure and high-temperature environments. They are known for their simple construction, minimal maintenance, and cost-effectiveness.
